Womb Chocolate

If you are Pregnant, Postpartum or needing nourishment during your Menstrual or Moon Cycle then this Recipe is an amazing way to nourish your Womb Space.

The three main super-ingredients for this recipe are Rose, Wild Orange Essential Oil & Medjool Dates.

  1. Dried Rose Petals (Edible/Tea): The Symbol of the Divine Feminine, Rose petal can ease menstrual/after birth cramps, reduce inflammation, have relaxing/stress lowering effects and encourage better sleep as they help to reduce anxiety. Rose petals also hold an energetic link between heart and womb space, promoting love and acceptance.

  2. Wild Orange Essential Oil (DoTerra): This CTG (certified therapeutic grade) essential oil aligns with the ‘Sacral Chakara”, supports healthy immune function (particularly beneficial for pregnancy/menstruation where immune function is lowered) and uplifts your mind and body when energy levels are low. Promoting joy and positive thinking when you may be feeling low.

  3. Medjool Dates (Organic Certified): I could literally write an entire article on the reproductive benefits of Dates for women (Check out Little Green Blog for more). However, for the purpose of this recipe I will keep it short and “sweet”. Dates have a natural balancing effect for women’s reproductive health. If you are experiencing Menstrual issues, transitioning to your Moon Cycle, preparing to give birth or healing after birth then eating dates every day will be the most simple dietary change you can make to support your health.

The other ingredients used are all super-foods in their own right: Coconut oil, Cacao and Maple syrup/Raw honey have many health benefits too! Coconut oil has anti-microbial/antifungal properties that may promote gut health and fight against disease causing microorganisms. Cacao is a nutrient and spiritual powerhouse, sacred in many cultures but also used for healing the mind, body & spirit. Pure Maple Syrup is full of antioxidants and nutrients (Magnesium, Zinc, Calcium) helping to regulate blood sugar levels & improve immunity. Honey - especially pure or low heat treated meas the nutritional integrity of the honey has not been damaged by excessive treatment or processing so you get all the health benefits: immune support & anti-inflammatory as well as gut healing.

The Recipe

What you need:

  • 1/2 Cup of Coconut Oil

  • 1/2 Cup of Honey (Maple Syrup if Vegan)

  • DoTerra Wild Orange Essential Oil (6-8 drops)

  • 1 Cup Cacao Powder (Choose high quality)

  • Diced Medjool Dates & Dried Rose Petals (Edible)

  • Microwave or Stovetop glass bowl or Jug

  • Silicone Molds (ice cream or chocolate or ice cube)

  • Wood Spoon

Steps:

  1. Sprinkle a pinch of diced Medjool dates & Rose Petals into your Silicone Molds (or add on top when finished pouring … or BOTH!)

  2. Slowly melt coconut oil in the glass jug/bowl untill liquid

  3. Add Honey/Maple Syrup with 6 drops of Wild Orange Essential Oil

  4. Add in slowly your Cacao powder and mix until the consistency is smooth like chocolate

  5. Add a touch more of your liquid or dry ingredients untill your consistency is right

  6. Fill up molds, refrigerate untill solid - remove from molds and store in container in fridge

Notes:

  • Honey will give a thicker consistency - they will be more fudge like depending on the type of Honey you use

  • Start with less essential oil and then add more depending on your preferences

  • Stored in the fridge, these chocolates will last weeks and they hold their shape much better cooled. Take them out a few minutes before you want to eat them
