Shower Steamers

I remember well, being heavily pregnant and sick with hardly a thing to be found in a pharmacy of any real use to me! Its a simple start but this it how i first discovered medicinal grade Essential Oils (I use DoTerra) from my beautiful & generous friend. I was then able to gain some symptom relief, emotional support & rest (It was a trying time!). I soon discovered that i had many oils and ways to use them to help me. One blog article is simply not enough to encompass all the ways Essential Oils can support you, this is why i run YOGA & wellness workshops with Makai Yoga Collective to cover more ground. However, for today I will share a recipe I continue to use to this day & always have around with a busy young family!

Shower steamers are a great way to quickly diffuse Essential oils in a great airway humidifying environment - The shower! Clear, soothe & even help fight the illness itself naturally.

What you need:

  • 1/2 cup Citric Acid

  • 1 Cup Bicarb Soda

  • Medicinal grade Essential Oils (20 - 30 drops)

  • Mist Bottle of Witch Hazel / Cool Boiled Water

How to Make:

  1. Mix Baking Soda & Citric Acid in a bowl (Option: Add Mica powder etc. for colour).

  2. Add Essential Oils (Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Lemon Myrtle, Wild Orange, Lemon, Easy Air etc.) & Mix to evenly distribute in the mixture.

  3. Spray dry mix with Witch Hazel/water until it looks like damp sand/can clump together & hold its shape.

  4. Spoon into your mold of choice & pack firmly. Leave to set for 24hrs, then remove from mold.

  5. Store in an Airtight container or Jar - you can add more drops of essential oils before use in the shower if desired.

They also make easy little gifts or teachers presents! Very handy to have some around, enjoy!

OXOXOXO
